China’s powerful system and the\neffective measures it has taken to prevent and control novel\ncoronavirus-related pneumonia are rarely seen in the world, Director-General of\nthe United Nations’ World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said\non Tuesday.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ghebreyesus made the remarks while\nmeeting with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WHO and the international\ncommunity highly appreciates, and fully affirms the decisive measures the\nChinese government has taken to deal with the outbreak and also thank China for\nits tremendous efforts to curb the spread of the contagion, he said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

China set a record in identifying\nthe pathogen in a short time following the outbreak of the contagious disease,\nGhebreyesus said, and he praised the country’s timely sharing of the virus’ DNA\ninformation with the WHO and other countries.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
