Xiaomi co-founder and CEO Lei Jun said,\u00e2\u20ac\u0153To connect everything needs collaboration with others.\u00e2\u20ac\u009dOn November, 2018, Xiaomi announced a strategic partnership with IKEA. IKEA’s full range of smart lighting products will be connected to Xiaomi’s IoT platform starting this December in China. This marks the first time IKEA has partnered with a Chinese technology company.<\/p>\n

Through the cooperation, the lighting products of IKEA can be controlled by smart speakers including Xiaomi\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s AI voice assistant Xiao Ai, which is currently only available for Chinese Mandarin speakers.<\/p>\n

Most of Xiaomi\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fans might know that its\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcMi Home\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 app designed to manage Xiaomi devices and products\u00c2\u00a0as well as Xiao Ai\u00c2\u00a0will be compatible in IKEA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s smart lighting products.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Xiaomi AIOT Developers Conference, Lei Jun said the combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT will be the core strategy of his company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s business in ten years.<\/p>\n

Fan Dian, General Manager of the IoT platform department of Xiaomi, said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153IKEA and Xiaomi share very similar values and I believe our collaboration will accelerate the development of the smart home industry across the world.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

According to the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s third-quarter financial report, Xiaomi has connected\u00c2\u00a0132 million IoT\u00c2\u00a0devices\u00c2\u00a0in the ended September.<\/p>\n
